“I’m fascinated with how past designers had to come up with ideas and solve problems using limited resources,” he said. “Like, for instance, figuring out how two colors can work harder than four. It helps me get to better solutions myself.”

‘Super 8′ film poster by BLT & Associates.

Set in 1979 Ohio, a group of six young children use a Super 8 camera to make their own zombie movie. One night, while filming near a remote stretch of railroad tracks, the children witness a truck collide with an oncoming train leading to a catastrophic derailment. Amidst the fire and destruction, something inhuman emerges.

I am Fabien Barral. I am a graphic designer. I am passionate about images and graphic design. I am a house in the countryside of Auvergne, France. I am a husband and I love my wife. Below are Montreal-based Jennifer Appel’s fun and quirky ‘Kitchen Series’ illustrations. Her work is available to purchase via Big Cartel, Etsy, iStock and Moo.

My current obsessions include line drawings mixed with textures and digital colour, observations on daily life and copious glasses of coffee preferably with a few cookies. My style is described as colourful and whimsical and reflects my sense of humour.

Angelo Rodrigues’ brilliantly observed ink and watercolour images depicting electric poles and cables, from in and around Rio de Janeiro.

I started with the technique of engraving in the early ’80s in EAV – School of Visual Arts at Parque Lage. Today I work only with visual arts. For some time I shared my connection to the art with the academic and professional activities as a pension fund actuary, professor of postgraduate studies in universities and writer of books and papers on Actuarial Science. This is my diary of images, where all my work is placed (new and old), without worrying about choices.
